Recently, I have participated in the workshop organized by the UN Women on “Gender sensitive reporting and gender based violence”.
Afterwards, “Interior of Violence” – exhibition-performance was performed at Marjanishvili Theater, Tbilisi, Georgia. Performance was staged based on the articles and posts provided by the Georgian journalists and bloggers within the framework of the UN Women workshops.
Actors and actresses brilliantly presented very personal, thereby familiar stories for the Georgian society in general. I’ve shoot some photos and videos on the spot, so here they are.
One of the scenes of the performance was the Georgian Supra (table/party), depicting long toasts praising and worshiping the cult of mother and woman in general, performed by the male members of the table. Whereas we can find such toasts very false and artificial as often the same men are extremely dominant in the families, influencing their female cohabitants either emotionally, physically, economically or other ways.
