Everyone deserves pleasant and interesting vacation after non-stop working in summer, including me. So, time has come and I am in Batumi – a Black Sea Coast city, Georgia.
But this is not simply a vacation at seaside city, I shall attend VII Batumi International Art House Film Festival being held in 16-23 September of this year. As you may know I am second year student at TV and Film Directing, MA program, so I am very lucky to attend this festival as official blogger;
Festival Schedule is very rich in film screenings, countries of origin, directors, genres, etc.
And the most precious thing during this Festival is masterclasses of various directors.
Today it was opening ceremony and we were introduced with Jury chairman, members, foreign guests and watched the first film – Battle of Warsaw the most expensive film in the history of Poland by Jerzy Hoffman.
Post-film reaction was quite controversial, part of people disliked the film and received it as propaganda, others liked some elements of the film like costume design, soundtrack, specific scenes, etc.
Tomorrow we have four more films in our Festival schedule:
1. “Back to the Square” – Director Peter Lom, Norway/Canada
2. “In Darkness” – Director Agnieszka Holland, Poland
3. “House with Turret” – Director Eva Neyman, Ukraine
4. “Holy Motors”, Leos Carax, France/Germany
